Event Crew (Casual Staff / Part Time)
We are looking for event crew members to join our team. The type of work includes AV Hire, PA Hire, Dry Hire, Lighting, Stage & Rigging for Weddings, Parties, Conferences and events.Some of the items you would be expected to set up include:
- Lugging & shifting equipment
- Driving vans & delivering staging, dance floors & kit
- Lighting Desks / Moving Heads / DMX
- PA Systems, Projectors, Plasma Screens & Conference Aids
- DJ Equipment & Lighting
- Dance Floors & Decor
- Staging (indoor & outdoor) including carpeting
- PA Systems for concerts, outdoor events and indoor events
Duties
- Collection, delivery & setting up of equipment
- Transportation & moving of heavy items & equipment
- Smart, presentable & professional in your appearance and manner when dealing with the client, venue and their guests.
- Working times are 5 days a week on a shift basis, including unsociable hours
Experience & Skills (These are all MUST HAVE)

Event Staff (General Event Site Staff)
Just Smile has a fantastic opportunity to join our growing team of event staff.We are looking to recruit additional event site staff – moving equipment / running photobooth/magic mirror attendants for events. (e.g Parties/Weddings/Proms/Corporate)We are looking for outgoing/enthusiastic hard working people who will be proud to represent our company and brand and enjoy meeting and working with people.The Role
- Casual Work (predominantly weekend / evenings)
- Paying from £75+ per shift
- Working alone, using your own vehicle or for larger Jobs a company Van
- Collecting/transporting the equipment to/from our warehouse.
- Setting up and dismantling the equipment.
- Assisting clients throughout the hire period.
Previous experience in events would be ideal, however training will be provided to all the successful candidates so not essential. Applicants must : 1. Own a reliable vehicle with a medium to large packing space. 2. Have a full, clean drivers licence. 3. Be confident in using technology. 4. Willing to travel/be flexible on working hours(some unsocial hours) 5. Be confident and have an outgoing personality. Job Type: Part-time Salary: from £10.00 /hour
Sound Technician / Junior Technical Project Manager
Ideal for a trained individual with technical experience in live events, who is personable, can deal with customers & their requirements.
The ideal candidate needs strong experience working sound at live events. We use Allen & Heath Mixing consoles and Sennheiser Radio Mics for example. We would expect you to lead the way in this department within our business.
Opportunity for the role to develop into ‘Junior Project Manager’ to help plan events bringing together our resources and then follow up and manage events on site. Would suit someone who has been a Sound Technician at a reasonably senior level within a team.
Working times are 5 days a week on a shift basis including weekends and unsociable hours including weekend days. Working a minimum of 40 hours per week (not including breaks).

Key Duties
- Be a strong Sound Technician, as you will be leading the ‘Sound’ division of our business.
- Being competent in lighting, power, video would be beneficial.
- Working with the Production Manager and team, ensure all events/jobs are fulfilled, ideally to the highest standards possible to ensure excellent client experience and feedback.
- In conjunction with the Production Manager the planning & scheduling of staff & crew for all events upcoming in the company calendar.
- Ensure all jobs are covered, all equipment is returned and all company processes are followed by the technical team.
- Follow up all other members of the technical team on their task lists to ensure that their roles are being fulfilled satisfactorily.
- Work with the Production Manager to help deliver events on budget, whether through the use of existing equipment or through careful staffing and budgeting to ensure the company continues to be financially secure.
- Delivery, Setting Up & Hand-over of equipment to clients for Equipment Hire bookings.
- Delivery, Setting Up, Operation and liaison with client, artistes, hosts, entertainers on site at events where we are providing full technical support.
- Inputting of stock equipment & asset tagging of equipment into inventory system. Creating Kits for hireable assets within the system. Managing all assets within the system, ensuring they are always up to date.
- Ensure all equipment follows an on-going maintenance schedule, including PAT Testing, Load testing & any repairs.
Other Duties
- Take a lead on the organisation & operation of the warehouse. Ensuring all stock is tested in & out for each event & prepped / de-prepped from each event.
- Support the administration team to liaise & advise clients on technical requirements for conferences and other events.
- Attend briefing meetings with / without clients in order to quote, measure or prepare for events.
- Smart, presentable & professional in your appearance and manner when dealing with the client, venue and their guests.

Live Events Technical Project Manager (Lighting & Sound)
We are looking for full-time Senior Technician / Project Manager to join our team. Our work includes AV Hire, Sound & Lighting, Stage & Rigging for Conferences, Festivals, Parties & Luxury Weddings.
You will need some years of experience as a Live Events Technician and an expectation and willingness to still be hands on. Whilst managing, organising production jobs, planning vehicles, people and equipment. But also in the field delivering the events to the Just Smile standard.
The role would suit an organised person with passion, technical experience and experience working in, or managing a team & workflow. We are looking for someone who understands the ‘live events’ industry and is as comfortable behind a desk and planning the teams logistics, as running a lighting show, or sound for an event.
The ideal candidate needs to be be able to offer some technical support & knowledge to the team, and work together to ensure all the incoming jobs (however large or small) are delivered to the correct standard.
Applicants who know this industry will appreciate the working hours, and will understand many of the challenges. We would welcome a team player who can lead by example & help us achieve our objectives for the individuals, the team and our business.
Salary is based on experience, we are a small but growing company.
